THE ORDER CONCERNING THE DUTIES, DIVISIONS AND OPERATIONS OF THE SECOND BRANCH

The Order Concerning the Duties, Divisions and Operations of the Second Branch (“İkinci Şu’benin Vezâ’if, Taksîmat ve Muâmelâtı Hakkında Ta’lîmât”) prepared by Presidency of War of the Republic of Turkey on 1 April 1340 [1924] in Ottoman (old Turkish) organizes the duties, organizational structure, its own division of work and activities of the department operating as “Intelligence Branch (İstihbârât Şu’besi)” at that time. As a result of the review of the literature, with the translation of the said order, which is evaluated to be not translated into modern-day Latin Alphabet and even if it was translated it was limited to the use of relevant departments of the state and was not shared with the public, it is aimed to contribute to fill a gap in the literature.
