Sıcaklık stresi oluşturulan broylerlerde rasyona ilave edilen bitki ekstraktının büyüme performansı ve ince bağırsak villusları üzerine etkisi

Bu çalışmada, sıcaklık stresi altında yetiştirilen broyler rasyonlarına antibakteriyel etkili bitki ekstraktı (Herbromix®) katkısının büyüme, yemden yararlanma ve intestinal villusların uzunlukları üzerine etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Bu amaçla yumurtadan yeni çıkmış 80 adet broyler civciv kullanıldı. Civcivler her grupta 20 adet olacak şekilde 4 gruba ayrıldı. Gruplardan ikisine ticari broyler yemi verilirken diğer ikisinin ticari yemlerine bitki ekstraktı (% 0,1) ilave edildi. Çalışmanın 15. gününden itibaren 30. güne kadar ticari yemle ve bitki ekstraktı ilave edilen yemle beslenen gruplardan birer tanesine sıcaklık stresi uygulandı. Haftalık canlı ağırlık artışı ve yem tüketimleri takip edildi. Stres uygulamasının sonunda (30. gün) ve 45. günde bağırsak villuslarının uzunlukları, 45. günde karkas ağırlıkları ve bağırsak ağırlıkları ölçüldü. Kullanılan bitki ekstraktının büyüme performansı ve yem tüketimi üzerine önemli bir etkisinin olmadığı, bağırsak villus uzunluklarını ise kısalttığı gözlendi.

Effects of plant extract on growth performance and villi of the small bowel in heat stressed broiler

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of addition of plant extract possesing antibacterial effect (Herbromix®) into broiler diet on growth, feed efficiency and intestinal villi length. A total of 80 new born broiler chicks were utilized for this purpose. Chicks were alloted into 4 groups, 20 chicks per group. While two groups were fed commercial broiler diet, plant extracts (0.1 % of DM) were added into diets of other two groups. Consecutive fifteen days, starting $15^{th}$ day of experiment, heat stress were applied to two groups, one fed commercial diet and one fed commercial diet supplemented with plant extract. Feed intake and weight gain were recorded weekly. Villi lengths were measured at the termination of stress ($30^{th}$ day of experiment) and $45^{th}$ day of experiment. Carcass and intestinal weights were also determined at the $45^{th}$ day of experiment. Plant extract used in this study did not have a significant effect on growth and feed intake but decreased villi lengths.
