"Türkçe Gazete" at the Transition Stage to Latin Alphabet

The new Turkish Alphabet was officially approved on November 1, 1928 in Turkey. Since that date all the written documents had started to be published in the new Turkish alphabet, but a long time before the approval of that law "The Turkish Newspaper" already became the first newspaper to be published in the new Turkish alphabet in the Turkish press life. The aim of the newspaper was to introduce and to teach the new alphabet to everyone and to enable it to be learnt by heart by everybody. At the same time some articles raising the reader's level of knowledge and culture started to be published. In a three months' period of time, with a twenty-five publication, the newspaper achieved its aim and it enabled the new Turkish alphabet to be used by all the Turkish people.
