The Return of Malta Exiles to Homeland

Malta exiles is one of the most important and interesting events of our national struggle history. This event is the result of historic development starting with the invasion of Turkey following to Mondros Armistice, and it reveals with an insidious plan belonging to England. The plan prepared by the British who did not want problems in their invasions aimed to rule out the people who might be able to obstacle for the Britisih. Without losing anytime, the British applying their plans began to arrest eloborate people and significant people and at the rank of commander. Mustafa Kemal Pahsa and his near friends would be involved in this application. But, after the invasion of Smyrna upon the intensive reaction in the country, the British feared people to rebel and come to the door of the prison, and decide to exile the prisoners to the Malta, and the first group was on 28th May 1919. The arrest process had continued after the invasion of Istanbul, and Malta continue to welcome its exiles. In this study, as a result of political power up national conscious getting grow in Anatolia, and military victories it won, we tried to explain the stories of Malta exiles and their reaching story to the Motherland and their changing fates.
