Millî Korunma Kanunu, Türkiye’de İkinci Dünya Savaşı sırasında uygulamaya konulmuştur. Bu kanun daha sonra liberal bir ekonomik politika uygulamak iddiasıyla iktidara gelen Demokrat Parti tarafından 1955 yılından itibaren yeniden uygulanmaya başlanmış ve ekonomik alana çok etkin şekilde müdahale edilmesine yol açmıştır. Bu kanun uygulamada, ekonomik sisteme tek parti döneminin koşullarını aratmayacak ölçüde sınırlamalar getirmiştir.

The Law National Protection (Millî Korunma Kanunu) was fırst implemented in Türkiye during the Second World War. This law was then reesacted in 1956 by the Democrat Party Government which came to power with an agenda of liberal economic policy. The Democrat Party Government, however, employed this law to intervene into Turkish economy more effectively than before. The D.P.’s economic policy under the law brought into the economic system many limitations similar to those of the single party period.
