Fossa infratemporalis'in cerrahi morfometrisi

Fossa infratemporalis, bu bölge ile uğraşan cerrahlar tarafından fossa cranii media'nın altında kalan ve a. carotis interna, v. jugularis interna, cranial sinirler gibi önemli yapıları içeren bir çukur olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Her ne kadar fossa infratemporalis'in mikrocerrahi anatomisi detaylı olarak çalışılmışsa da bu bölgede yer alan cerrahi açıdan önemli kemik yapıların birbirlerine olan uzaklıkları ve birbirleriyle olan ilişkilerini konu alan çalışma sayısı azdır. Bu çalışmada fossa infratemporalis'e yönelik cerrahi girişimlerin daha güvenli olmasına katkı sağlayccağını düşündüğümüz ölçümler sağ ve sol tarafta ayrı ayrı olmak üzere, tuberculum articulare'nin hemen önünde arcus zygomaticus'un dış yüzünden processus pterygoideus'un lamina lateralis ve medialis'ine olan uzaklıklar; arcus zygomaticus'un arka kökünden foramen ovale, foramen spinosum ve canalis caroticus'un girişine olan uzaklıklar; processus mastoideus'un tepesinden canalis caroticus ve canalis hypoglossi'nin girişi, foramen jugulare ve foramen stylomastoideum'a olan uzaklıklar arasında yapıldı.

Surgically important landmarks of the infrateamparol fossa: A morphometric study

Surgeons who deal with the infratemporal fossa define this area as an anatomic space under the floor of the middle cranial fossa that includes important structures such as the carotid artery, the internal jugular vein and the cranial nerves. Although the microsurgical anatomy of the infratemporal fossa has been studied in detail, only a few studies have examined the bony relation-ships and distances between the surgically signifi-cant landmarks. In order to permit safer surgical approaches to the infratemporal fossa, this study provides measurements for the distances from the lateral margin of the zygomatic arch to the lateral and medial pterygoid plate; the posterior zygo-matic root to the foramen ovale, the foramen spin-osum and the carotid canal; and the mastoid tip to the carotid canal, the hypoglossal canal, the jugular foramen and the stylomastoid foramen.
