Applications of Total Quality Management in Turkey: A Case Study of White Goods, Automative and Textile Industries

Applications of Total Quality Management (TQM) play an important role in the restructuring process of capital at the glob'al level. In Turkey, these new structuring processes have widely taken place especially among large scale firms since the 1990s through the application of new management and production methods. As part of TQM, modern management methods include teamwork, kaizen, lean management, lean production, Just in Time Stock System (JIT), fishbone methods, Pareto Diagram and the like. This paper aims to present findings of a fieldwork conducted in seven large firms in the white goods, automotive and textile industries in Turkey and evaluate the effect of the application of modern management methods on workers.
