Bu çalışma temel olarak, 1994 ve 2001 krizlerini izleyen dönemlerde büyüme ve istihdam ilişkisini ortaya koymaktadır. İlk olarak, 2001 krizi sonrası dönemde sağlanan büyüme ile verimlilik artışı ve ücretlerin baskı altında tutulması arasında kuvvetli bir ilişki olduğu ortaya konmuştur. Ardından 2001 ve 1994 krizlerini izleyen dönemlerde istihdam hacmindeki değişim incelenmiş ve 2001 krizinden sonraki büyüme döneminin, 1994 krizi sonrası döneme göre daha az istihdam yarattığı görülmüştür. Çalışmanın son bölümünde 2001 sonrası dönemde, 1994 krizi soması dönemine göre neden daha az istihdam yaratılabildiğinin nedenleri tartışılmıştır.

This study examines the relationship between economic growth and employment during the periods following 1994 and 2001 crises in Turkey. Results show that there is a strong relation among growth, increase in productivity and pressure on real wages. Later, employment trends have been observed in post 2001 and post 1994 periods and results show that growth created less jobs in the post-2001 period, in comparison to post-1994 period. In the final section of the study, possible causes of creating less employment during the post-2001 period than the post-1994 period have been discussed.
