Deneysel hayvan çalışmalarında etik prensipler

20. yüzyılda hayvanların deneysel kullanımı ile bilim ve tıp alanında çok önemli gelişmeler kaydedilmiştir. Bu derlemenin amacı; biyomedikal ve davranışsal araştırmalar ile eğitim ve testlerde hayvanların kullanılması esnasında hayvan haklarının korunması ve gerekli olan etik prensipleri gözden geçirmektir. Temel hedef bu çalışmalar sırasında hayvanların esenliğinin sağlanması, biyomedikal araştırmaların kalitesini artırmak ve canlıların yararına olacak biyolojik bilgilerin ilerletilmesidir. Araştırma ve eğitim için hayvanların kullanımı herzaman etik kurallar çerçevesinde olmalıdır.

Ethical priciples in experimantal animal studies

The use of animals as experimental subjects in the 20 century has made many important contributions to scientific and medical knowledge. The aim of this study is to present an overview of the ethical principles regarding the çare of animals used in biomedical and behavioral research, teaching and testing; the basic objective is to provide information that will enhance animal well-being, the quality of biomedical research, and the advancement of biological knowledge that is relevant to humans or animals. The use of animals for research and teaching should always take into consideration ethical issues.
