Kanser, dünyada ve ülkemizde gittikçe artan önemli bir sağlık sorunudur. Hücrelerin kontrolsüz şekilde çoğalması olarak tanımlanan kanser, bireylerin yaşamını birçok yönden etkilemektedir. Yaşamın önemli bir yönü olan cinsellik de büyük oranda etkilenmekte, ancak hem hastalar hem de sağlık personeli, çeşitli sebeplerden dolayı cinsellik hakkında konuşamamaktadır. Halbuki, bütüncül bakımın bir parçası olarak cinselliğin değerlendirilmesi gerekmekte, bu bakımdan sağlık personeline, özellikle hastalarla daha çok zaman geçiren hemşirelere büyük görev düşmektedir

How to evaluate sexuality in cancer patients?

Cancer is an increasingly important health problem in the World as well as our country. Cancer which is defined as the uncontrolled growth of cells, affects the lives of individuals in many ways. Sexuality which is an important aspect of life, is also greatly affected, but patients and health personnel both can not talk about sexuality due to various reasons. However, as a part of holistic care sexuality needs to be assessed, and it is a great deal of responsibility for healthcare personnel, especially nurses who spend more time with patients
