Yaşlılık ve Rekreasyon

Tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de nüfus günden güne yaşlanmakta ve yaşlı nüfusun genel nüfus içindeki yeri artmaktadır. Ülkemizde doğumda beklenen yaşam süresi 2017 yılında 77,3 yıl iken nüfus projeksiyonlarında beklenen yaşam süresinin 2023 yılında 77,9 yıl olması öngörülmektedir (TUİK 2017). Bunun yanında, 65 yaş ve üzeri nüfusun 2016 yılında genel nüfusa oranı 8,3 iken 2023 yılında 10,2 ve 2050 yılında 20,8 olacağı senaryolarda öngörülmektedir (TUİK 2013; TUİK 2016). Ortalama ömrün uzaması, doğurganlık hızının düşmesi ve buna bağlı olarak yaşlı nüfusunun genel nüfus içindeki payının günden güne artması, yaşlılık ve beraberinde yaşlıların yaşadığı problemlerin de ele alınması gerekliliği ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu nedenle daha uzun ve daha sağlıklı nasıl yaşanacağı üzerinde düşünülmelidir (Fraga ve diğ. 2011). Yaşlanan nüfus ile ilgili çalışmalar gerçekleştirilmekle birlikte, yerel, ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde yaşlıların yaşam kalitesi ile ilgili çeşitli çalışmalar da gerçekleştirilmektedir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı, yaşlanan nüfusun yaşam kalitesinin yükseltilmesi, sağlığın geliştirilmesi ve tedavi süreçlerine rekreatif faaliyetlerin etkisi ile ilgili gerçekleştirilen çalışmaların taranması ve yaşlılıkta rekreatif faaliyetlerin önemini belirlemeye yönelik bir çalışma gerçekleştirmektir.
