Case study related to tatuta project experience of ecological holiday farms

This paper is a case study analyzing two ecological holiday farms which are parts of the TATUTA project. In this study, to what extent the objectives of the project can be achieved by the Hindiba Pension and the dude ranch of Özlü Family is examined. Hence, this research is heuristic. Semi-structured interviews are conducted as a research method. Data have been collected mostly through the audio recorded interviews that were conducted between 26 August 2011 and 4 September 2011. Data were collected systematically. The received data have been subject to descriptive analysis. Content analysis has been made for some undefinable concepts. As a result, the number of visiting volunteers and vacationers is quite limited and there has been no increase. There is no additional growth in revenue. TATUTA was useful for only one farm in promoting organic farming. There has been no sufficient infor mation exchange either. However within the scope of project, there has been an opportunity of connection between volunteers/vacationers and locals and a socio-cultural interaction has been established. Though, an increase has been observed in love of nature and desire for organic products. According to this research, TATUTA project could not achieved its objectives in these two farms that are subject to the case study. The underlying reasons of this ineffectiveness can be uncovered in further researches.
