ÜNİVERSİTE KÜTÜPHANESİ KULLANICILARININ ELEKTRONİK VE BASILI KAYNAK TERCİHLERİNE İLİŞKİN BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Sanayi devriminden sonra bilim ve teknolojik gelişmelerin hız kazanması ile elektronik kaynaklar hayatımıza girmiş ve öğrencilerin, akademisyenlerin ve araştırmacıların bilgiyi arama, erişim, kaydetme, işleme, kullanma ve paylaşma etkinliklerini büyük oranda değiştirmiştir. Bununla beraber basılı kaynaklar da kişiler, kurumlar ve yayınevleri tarafından yayınlanmaya ve kullanıcılar tarafından da kullanılmaya devam etmiştir. Elektronik ve basılı kaynakların kullanım şekli ve oranı birçok değişkenden etkilenebilmektedir. Bu değişkenleri sıralarsak; yayının türü, yayının kullanılma amacı, kullanıcının yaşı, alanı, alışkanlığı ve yatkınlığı gibi birçok değişkenden etkilenmektedir. Kütüphaneler artan elektronik ve basılı kaynakları kontrol edebilmek, bütçelerini yeterli bir şekilde düzenlemek, nitelikli derme oluşturmak, kaynaklarının kullanıcılar tarafından daha verimli bir şekilde kullanılmasını sağlamak amacıyla elektronik ve basılı kaynakların seçimini birtakım unsurları göz önüne alarak karar vermelidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite kütüphanelerinin derme geliştirme sürecinde sağlanacak kaynakları belirlemesi için üniversite kütüphanesi kullanıcılarının basılı ve elektronik bilgi kaynağı tercihlerinin incelenmesi ve basılı ve elektronik kaynak tercihlerine ilişkin değişkenlerin belirlenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda oluşturulan anket, evren olarak seçilen Karabük Üniversitesi’nde uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 25 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Elektronik ve basılı kaynak tercihleri ve bu tercihleri etkileyen nedenler; katılımcıların demografik özelliklerine (yaş, alan, görev ve cinsiyet), yayını türüne, yayının kullanım amacına, kaynağın ulaşılabilirliğine, kaynağın kullanım yatkınlığı gibi nedenlere bağlı olarak farklılaştığı görülmüştür.

A STUDY ON ELECTRONİC AND PRİNTED SOURCE PREFERENCES OF UNİVERSİTY LİBRARY USERS

After the industrial revolution, electronic resources entered our lives with the acceleration of science and technological developments. They significantly changed the information searching, accessing, recording, processing, using and sharing information activities of students, academicians and researchers. In addition, it continued to be published by individuals, institutions and publishing houses in printed sources and used by users. The way and rate of use of electronic and printed resources can be affected by many variables If we list them, The type of publication is affected by many variables such as the purpose of the publication and user age, field, habit, and predisposition. Libraries should decide on the selection of electronic and printed resources, taking into account some factors, to control the increasingly electronic and printed resources, organize their budgets adequately, create qualified collections, and ensure that their resources are used more efficiently by users. This study aims to examine the printed and electronic information source preferences of university library users to determine the resources to be provided in the collection development process of university libraries and to determine the variables related to their printed and electronic resource preferences. The questionnaire created for this purpose was applied in Karabük University, chosen as the universe. The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS 25 program. Electronic and printed resource preferences and the reasons affecting these preferences; It was observed that the participants differed due to the demographic characteristics (age, field, task, and gender), the type of publication, the purpose of use of the publication, the accessibility of the source, and the tendency to use the source.
