Menderes magnesiası theatron kazısı seramik buluntuları

Menderes Magnesiası Theatronu’nda bulunan seramiklerin ele alındığı bu çalışmadaki amacımız, seramik formlarının belirlenmesi, tanıtılması ve değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışma kapsamı içe risine çoğunluğu kaliteli seramikler ve günlük kullanım seramiklerinden oluşan 93 seramik parçası alınmıştır. Günlük kullanım seramiklerinin büyük kısmının yerel üretim olduğu anlaşılmış, ayrıca ken tin Hellenistik Dönem’de, dönemin baskın kaliteli seramik gruplarından birini oluşturan ve eski litera türde “Megara Kâseleri” olarak tanımlanan kalıp yapımı kâseleri de ürettiği tespit edilmiştir. Hellenistik Dönem’e tarihlendirilen parçaların geneli MÖ 2-1. yy. özellikleri göstermekte, Roma Dö nemi malzemesi ise tüm buluntular arasında çoğunluğu oluşturmaktadır. Roma Dönemi’ne tarihlenen parçaların geneli MS 2-3. yy.’dandır. Yapıdan MS 3. yy. sonrasına tarihlenen tek seramik örneği ele geçmiştir.

Magnesia on the meander ceramic finds from theatron

The aim of this paper is to analyze, identify and introduce the forms of the ceramics found during the excavations of the Theatron at Magnesia on the Meander. There are 93 sherds analyzed in this paper and most of them belong to fine and coarse wares. It is noted that most of the coarse wares and mould-made bowls (so- called Megarian Bowls in earlier literature) which is one of the dominant fine-ware types of the Hellenistic Age, were also produced locally in the city. There are some Hellenistic sherds dated into the 2nd-1st centuries B.C. but the majority of the sherds are from Roman Period and datable to the 2nd-3rd centuries A.D. From the building comes only one sherd, which is later than the 3rd century A.D.
