Liman tepe’de geç hellas III c dönemi

IRERP (İzmir Bölgesi Kazı ve Araştırmalar Projesi) çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilen Liman Tepe kazılarında Geç Tunç Çağı kalıntıları, son yıllara kadar oldukça sınırlı olarak tespit edilmişken, 2006 yılında açığa çıkartılan üç tabakalı yerleşim sayesinde bu döneme ait çok önemli bilgiler elde edilmiştir. Kıta Yunanistan kronolojisine göre GH III A2, III B ve III C dönemleri ile çağdaş olan Liman Tepe’nin Geç Tunç Çağı yerleşiminde mimari kalıntılar, tüm safhalar boyunca ve takip eden Protogeometrik Dönem’de üst üste kesintisiz olarak devam etmiştir. Aynı süreklilik seramik ve diğer küçük buluntularda da gözlenmektedir. Geç Tunç Çağı’nın son safhası olan GH III C dönemi, Kıta Yunanistan’da Miken krallıklarında, Anadolu’da ise Hitit İmparatorluğu’nda çöküşün, dolayısıyla da ekonomide bir duraksamanın yaşandığı dönemdir. Bu dönem, devam eden bölgeler arası bağlantılar, bölgesel stiller, batıdan doğuya doğru gerçekleşen olası göçler gibi halen birçok soruyu bünyesinde barındırmaktadır. Liman Tepe’de tespit edilen bu safhaya ait mimari kalıntılar ve küçük buluntular, hem Liman Tepe’nin bu dönemdeki durumuna, hem de bölgenin oldukça az bilinen bu dönemine ışık tutacak niteliktedir.

Late helladıc III c perıod at liman tepe

The Liman Tepe excavations, conducted by the Izmir Region Excavations and Re search Project (IRERP) had very limited Late Bronze Age remains until it revealed a stratified set tlement consisting of three phases contemporary with LH III A2, III B and III C periods. Architec tural remains and pottery indicate continuation within these Late Bronze Age periods through to the Protogeometric Period. The last phase of the Late Bronze Age, contemporary with LH III C, is the period following the collapse of the Mycenaean palaces in the Aegean and the Hittite Empire in Ana tolia, and is informative regarding problematic issues such as continuing connections after the pala tial era, developing regional styles, and movement of populations from west to east. The stratified architectural remains and pottery of LH III C does not only shed light on Liman Tepe’s situation, but also contributes to the understanding of this very little known and paradoxical time period in the region.
