BIBLIOMETRIC NETWORK ANALYSIS OF STUDIES ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INFLATION AND UNEMPLOYMENT

The study conducted by William Philips in 1958 and the eponymous Philips Curve have continued to evolve the inflation and unemployment literature to this day. Within this scope, 2382 studies compiled from the Web of Science core collection, covering the years 1980-2022, have been examined and subjected to specific analyses. As a result of the conducted analyses, it has been identified that the institutions, countries, and author collaborations of the so-called developed countries are quite strong, and the studies affiliated with these institutions, countries, and authors have been pioneering in the field. When examined from the perspective of the utilized keywords, it has been determined that the main research topics of the literature, such as "unemployment," "inflation," and "Philips Curve," are extensively used. A noteworthy point regarding the 2382 studies identified within the imposed constraints is that the majority of influential studies have been conducted after the year 2000. In light of the findings obtained from the analyses, a broad perspective on the literature is provided, and the evolution that the literature has undergone over the years is showcased. Additionally, it is anticipated that researchers contributing to the literature will better identify the gaps in the field by examining this study, thus making valuable contributions.
