Üretral yolla mesane kateterizasyonunda iki farklı kayganlaştırıcı kullanmanın ağrıya etkisi

Amaç: Bu araştırma, kadınlarda üriner kateter uygulaması sırasında kateterin kayganlaştırılmasında lidokain ve yağlayıcı jel kullanımının ağrıyı azaltmadaki etkinliğini incelemek amacıyla yarı deneysel olarak yapıldı. Yöntem: Ağustos 2010-Ocak 2011 tarihleri arasında Giresun’da bulunan bir hastanede sezeryan ameliyatı olan ve üretral kateterizasyon uygulanan 126 hasta araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında, Olgu Rapor Formu ve Görsel Kıyaslama Ölçeği kullanıldı. Araştırmada üretral yolla mesane kateterizasyonu sırasında kateterin kayganlaştırılmasında; kontrol grubunda serum fizyolojik, 1. uygulama grubunda lidokain jel, 2. uygulama grubunda yağlayıcı jel kullanıldı. Kateterizasyondan hemen sonra hastaların ağrısı değerlendirildi. Araştırma için, etik kuruldan ve araştırmanın yapıldığı kurumdan yazılı, araştırmaya katılan hastalardan yazılı/sözlü izin alındı. Bulgular: Kontrol grubu ve 2. uygulama grubunda hastaların %78.6’sında, 1. uygulama grubundaki hastaların %52.4’ünde ağrı görüldüğü, ağrı şiddeti ortalamalarının ise; kontrol grubunda 2.19±1.99, 1. uygulama grubunda 1.29±1.87, 2. uygulama grubunda 2.03±1.91 olarak belirlendi. The effect on pain of the use of two different lubricants in urethral bvladder catheterization

Objective: This was a quasi-experimental study realized in order to analyze the efficacy of lidocaine and lubricating gel used for catheter lubrication during catheter application for pain relief. Method: The study population consisted of 126 patients who underwent caesarean section delivery and urethral catheterization in a hospital in Giresun between the dates of August 2010-January 2011. Case Report Form and Visual Analog Scale were used to gather data. In the study, normal saline for the control group, lidocaine gel for the first application group, lubricating gel for the second application group were used for catheter lubrication during urinary bladder catheterization. The pain levels of the patients were evaluated after catheterization. Written permissions of the ethics committee and of the institution where the research was carried out, and written/oral permissions of the patients taking part in the study were granted to realize this research. Results: It was determined that pain was observed in the 78.6% of the patients in the control and second application group, in the 52.4% of the ones in the first application group; and their mean pain scores were determined to be 2.19±1.99 in the control group, 1.29±1.87 in the first application group, and 2.03±1.91 in the second application group.
