The health action process approach is a psychological theory of health behavior change first published in 1992 for understanding, identificstion and predincting of health behavior changes. It is combination of social cognititive theory, reasoned action theory and volitianal theories. It  divided to two phase (motivational and volitional) and three stage (preintentender, intender an actor). In this article we evaluated to health action process approach under current literature lights and compared to other behavioral models. Key words: Health behavior, health promotion, nursing,  HAPA
