Effects of Different Fertigation Levels on Yield and Nutrient Uptake of Melon (Cucumis melo L.) Grown in the Central Anatolia Region

In this study it was aimed to evaluate the effect of different fertigation levels (25, 50, 75 and 100%) on yield and nutrient uptake of melon that grown in the central Anatolia region, comparing with conventional fertilization. The experiment was carried out at two consecutive years (2015 and 2016 growing seasons) under the field conditions at the research area of Cumhuriyet University Vocational School of Sivas Department of Crop and Animal Production. The experiment was designed according to completely randomized design with 3 replications and doses of 16 kg da-1 nitrogen (N) (Ammonium sulphate, (NH4)2SO4), 8 kg da-1 phosphorus (P) (Monopotassium phosphate, KH2PO4) and 20 kg da-1 potassium (K) (Potassium nitrate, KNO3) was applied to 100% fertigation treatment. The Yuva melon varietywas used as a test plant whereas experiment was irrigated 16 times throughout the growing period. Current findings revealed that 100% fertigation treatment (16 kg damelon in the 1st and 2nd years as 3386 and 2927 kg da-1 respectively. Moreover this treatment increased N (5.50%), Zn (39.6 mg kg-1) and Mn (40.0 mg kg-1) concentrations in the 1st year of the experiment. N, 8 kg da P, 20 kg da K) had the greatest yield of
