Kaynağı bizzat Kur’ân-ı Kerim’in kendisi olan vakf ve ibtidâ, kırâat ve tecvîd ilimlerinin en önemli alt dallarından biri olarak görülmektedir. Makâsıd-ı ilâhînin doğru bir şekilde anlaşılması ve içerdiği i‘câzın açığa çıkması; Kur’ân-ı Kerim kırâati esnasında nerede nasıl durulacağını ve nereden nasıl okumaya başlanacağını bilmeye imkân sağlayan bu ilimle mümkündür. Vakf ve ibtidâ kurallarına uyulmadığı, diğer bir ifadeyle gelişigüzel vakfedilip yine belli bir kaideye bağlı kalmaksızın ibtidâ edildiği takdirde ortaya çıkması muhtemel anlam değişimi ve bozulmalarına kapı aralanmış olur. Dolayısıyla bu ilmin Kur’ân’ın mânasıyla doğrudan ilişkili olduğu ve bir bakıma onun muhafazasını üstlendiği söylenebilir. Tanıtımını yapacağımız bu eser, “Teoriden Pratiğe Vakf ve İbtidâ -Kur’ân-ı Kerim’in Anlaşılması Bağlamında-” başlığıyla kırâat ilmine dair kıymetli çalışmaları bulunan Recep Koyuncu tarafından doktora tezi olarak kaleme alınmıştır. Vakf ve ibtidâ ilmini Kur’ân-ı Kerim’in anlaşılması bağlamında kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alan çalışma, bir giriş ve üç ana bölüm olmak üzere toplam iki yüz yetmiş beş sayfadan müteşekkildir.

Waqf and ibtida, the source of which is the Qur'an itself, is seen as one of the most important sub-branches of the sciences of recitation and tajweed. A correct understanding of the divine maqasid and revealing the i'jaz it contains; It is possible with this science, which allows to know where to stop and how to start reading during the recitation of the Qur'an. If the rules of waqf and ibtida are not followed, in other words, if it is dedicated randomly and again without adhering to a certain rule, the door to possible changes and distortions in meaning will be opened. Therefore, it can be said that this science is directly related to the meaning of the Qur'an and, in a way, undertakes its preservation. This work, which we will introduce, was written as a doctoral thesis by Recep Koyuncu, who has valuable studies on the science of recitation, with the title of " Waqf and Ibtida - From Theory to Practice - In the Context of Understanding the Qur'an". The study, which comprehensively deals with the science of waqf and ibtida in the context of understanding the Qur'an, consists of a total of two hundred and seventy-five pages, including an introduction and three main sections.
