Restorative and Prosthetic Treatment in Dentinogenesis Imperfecta : Report of Two Cases

Dentinogenezis imperfecta is a hereditarydisease of the primary and permanent dentitions. Despite its common presentation asan autosomal recessive-trait, patients withosteogenesis imperfecta are known to display autosomal dominant inheritance. Thepresent report describes prosthetic andrestorative management of two cases withdentinogenesis imperfecta associated withosteogenesis imperfecta. The first case wasa twelve-year-old patient with excessivelyattrited and discolored teeth, whose prosthetic management was accomplished withoverlay dentures. The second patient presented with opaque enamel and darkbrown regions due to previously exposeddentin. Esthetic management of affectedanterior teeth was made with resin composite restorations
