Success Criteria in Dental Implants and Maintenance of Implant Health

For a successful implant therapy, treatmentplanning and evaluations made before theimplant surgery are as important as theclinical follow-up after the surgery. In general, these success criteria include periodontal, prosthetic, radiological evaluations and patient opinion about the treatment. In our study, failures in dentalimplants were classified as early and late;and conditions that cause failures in dentalimplants were reviewed. The criteriadescribed for evaluating implant health, precautionary measures when implanthealth is damaged and treatment optionsare determined. Treatment strategiesdescribed for the maintenance of the healthof peri-implant tissues are explained. Thisstudy aims to determine the success criteria, causes of failure of dental implants, and to give information about the applications for protecting the stability of theimplant
