İstanbul'da balkondan düşmeye bağlı ölümler

Adli Tıp Kurumu Morg İhtisas Dairesi'nde, 1999-2003 yılları arasında otopsisi yapılan toplam 14945 olguya ait otopsi raporları taranarak, ölümü balkondan düşmeye bağlı olarak meydana gelen olgulara ait raporlar ayrılmış ve çeşitli yönlerden incelenmiştir. İncelen toplam 14945 olgudan 42 (%0.3) tanesi balkondan düşme sonucu ölmüştür. Olguların yıllara dağılımı açısından yapılan incelemede; en fazla olgunun 2003 yılında mevcut olduğu (n=12, %28.6) tespit edilmiştir. En fazla olay Ağustos ayında (n=7, %16.7) meydana gelmiştir. Olguların 23 (%54.8) tanesi erkek, 19 (%45.2) tanesi ise kadındır. En küçüğü 2, en büyüğü 87 yaşında olup, yaş ortalaması 41.6±24.2 olarak tespit edilmiştir. En fazla olguya 41-50 yaş grubunda (n=7, %16.7) rastlanmıştır. Olayın meydana geliş şekli açısından yapılan incelemede; 26 (%61.8) olguda olay hakkında ayrıntılı bilgi mevcut olmayıp "balkondan düşme" şeklinde belirtildiği, bunu intihar amacı ile atlamaların izlediği (n=1V, %26.2) tespit edilmiştir. Orijin açısından ilk sırayı intihar almış (n=12, %28.6) bunu kazalar izlemiştir (n=5, %11.9). Ölüm nedenleri açısından yapılan incelemede; olguların 41 (%97.6) tanesinin genel beden travması, 1 (%2.4) tanesinin ise kunt kafa travması sonucu öldüğü tespit edilmiştir. Olguların 38 (%90.5) tanesinde düşülen balkonun yüksekliği veya kaçıncı kat balkonu olduğu hakkında bilgi olmayıp, birer olgunun 2-3-4-11. kat balkonundan düştüğü belirtilmiştir. Olguların 5 (%11.9) tanesinde 143 ile 560 mg/dl arasında değişen oranlarda alkol, 1 tanesinde ise kanda antiepileptik, kanda ve idrarda trisiklik antidepressan madde bulunmuştur. Bu 6 olgunun tümünde olay "balkondan düşme" olarak bildirilmiş ve orijin hakkında bilgi verilmemiştir.

Deaths due to falling from the balcony in İstanbul

Autopsy reports of 14945 cases referred to the Morgue Specialization Department of the Council of Forensic Medicine between the years were reviewed, deaths occurred due to falling from the balcony were selected and investigated from various aspects. In 42 (0.3%) of the reviewed 14945 cases death occurred due to falling from the balcony. Considering the distribution of the cases according to years, most cases were in 2003 (n=12, 28.6%). Most cases occurred in August. (n=7, 16.7%). 23 (54.8%) of the cases were male, 19 (45.2%) female. The youngest was 2 year-old, the oldest was 87 year-old, and the average age was 41.6±24.2. Most cases were in the age group between 41-50 years of age (n=7, 16.7%). Considering the manner of death, no details were present in 26 (61.8%) of the cases, only stated as- "falling from the balcony", followed by suicide cases (n=11, 26.2%). Suicide took the first place among the origin of death (n=12, 28.6%), followed by accidents (n=5, 11.9%). The cause of death was general body trauma in 41 cases (97.6%), and blunt cranial trauma in 1 case (2.4%). In 38 (90.5%) of the cases no details were given about the height of the balcony, and one case fell from the 2., the 3., the 4., and the 11. floor balcony. In 5 (11.9%) of the cases alcohol were found in various levels (143 to 560 mg/dl), antiepileptic drug, and tricycle antidepressants in blood and urine, in 1 case. In' all these 6 cases, the case was reported only as "falling from the balcony" without any details about the origin.
