Amaç: Günümüzde çocuklarda travma sonrası genital ve perineal yaralanmalar sık görülmektedir.Çoğu zaman üretrayı ilgilendiren bu yaralanmalar inkontinans ve üriner obstrüksiyon gibi önemli komplikasyonlarla sonlanmaktadır. Üretra tıkanmalarında dilatasyon, internal ve eksternal üretrotomi, üretrotomi ve dilatasyonlarla birlikte steroid enjeksiyonu bazı olgularda sürekli olmayan iyileşmeler sağlayabilmekte, bununla birlikte çoğu zaman üretroplastiye ihtiyar duyulmaktadır. Biyolojik olmayan çeşitli yapıdaki maddeler tüp veya yama halinde üretra lezyonlarının giderilmesi için kullanılmışlardır. Yöntem: Üretra protezleri ile yapılan deneysel çalışmalar genellikle protezin yerinden ayrılması, bakteriyel enfeksiyon, protezin kollapsına ve granülasyon dokusuna bağlı tam tıkanma ve darlık oluşumu, üretroperineal fistüller ve protez üzerinde taş oluşması, üretra onarımında bu maddelerin kullanma ümidini azaltmıştır. Bulgular: Bu amaçla deneysel çalışmamızda tavşan modelinde üretra devre dışı bırakılarak 3,5cm'lik tübülerize edilmiş tutoplastın bir ucu mesane ile ağızlaştırılmış ve karın içine gömüldükten sonra dış ağız deriye açılmıştır. Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonunda tutoplasttan oluşturulan tübün içinin epitelize olduğu, divertikül ve darlık oluşmadığı görülerek bu maddenin fonksiyon gören neoüretra elde etmek için uygun olduğu görülmüştür.

Objective: Genital and perineal injuries are curently frequently encountered results of trauma in children. These injuries which usually involve the urethra, lead to complications such as incontinence and urinary obstruction. In urethral obstruction, while dilatation with internal and external urethrotomy, urethrotomy and dilatation together with steroid injections may produce temporary improvement in some cases, uroplasty is indicated in the majority of patients various non biological materials have been used tubal and patch forms to repair urethral lesions. But it has shown that the tubes are usually covered with urinary tract epithelium. Methods: However, dislodgement of the prothesis, bacterial infection, collaps of the prothesis, obstruction and strictures due to granulation tissue, urethroperineal fistulas and stone formation have considerably reduced hopes of success. Results: In our investigation the use of tutoplast in construction of a tubular structure at least 3.5 cm length which could replace the urethral tissue. The tutoplast tube opposed to the bladder and after, embedding it in the abdominal wall, the outher mouth of the tube opened to the skin surface. Conclusion: At the end of this investigation we found that the inner surface of the tutoplast epitheliased and narrowing or stricture did not develop. The role of the tutoplast in urethroplasty is excellent.
