Diabetes Mellitus’lu Pediatrik Hastada Gelişen Charcot Artropatisi: Olgu Sunumu

Charcot artropatisi, sensoryal eklem innervasyonunun bozulmasına bağlı olarak gelişen kronik, ilerleyici ve destrüktif bir eklem hastalığıdır. Başta diabetus mellitus olmak üzere çeşitli hastalıklarda sıklıkla görülen bu durum, çocuklarda nadiren rapor edilmiştir. Hikaye, fi zik muayene, ve radyolojik çalışmalara dayanılarak 13 yaşında bir kız çocuğun sağ ayağında Charcot artropatisi tespit edildi. Hastaya 6 hafta süreyle kısa bacak alçısıyla immobilizasyon uygulanarak, etkilenen ekstremiteye yük verilmesi kısıtlandı. Hastanın klinik bulguları konservatif tedavi sonrası belirgin olarak geriledi ve bu durum takip süresince muhafaza edildi

Charcot's Arthropathy In a Pediatric Patient With Diabetus Mellitus: a Case Report

Charcot’s Arthropathy is a chronic, progressive, and destructive joint disease which develops due to diminishing of sensorial joint innervation. Although it is frequently seen in various disorders, particularly of diabetus mellitus, this condition has been rarely reported in pediatric patients. Based on history, physical examination, and radiological studies, a 13-year-old girl was diagnosed as having Charcot arthropaty on her right foot. A short leg cast was applied and the patient was not allowed for weight-bearing for a period of 6 weeks. A signifi cant clinical recovery was achieved following conservative treatment, which maintained during the followup period
