Maligniteye Eşlik Eden Bir Santral Sinir Sistemi Aktinomikozu

A Central Nervous System Actinomycosis Accompanying Malignancy

Actinomyces is a gram-positive anaerobic bacillus found in the intraoral flora and rarely causes granulomatous suppurative infection. Cervicofacial infection usually occurs in people with poor oral hygiene or immunosuppressive disease, in situations that allow the agent to reach deeper. Central nervous system involvement of Actinomyces species is extremely rare. It can be confused with central nervous system malignancies radiologically and clinically. In such cases, patients must be evaluated together with clinical, imaging findings, and microbiological and pathological examinations. In this case report, we aimed to present a case of brain abscess due to Actynomices spp. which accompanying with central nervous system malignancy.
