Prevalence of metabolic syndrome

Nowadays there are lots of scientific publications about the problem of metabolic syndrome that is connected with early disability, cardiovascular complications. The results of European Heart Journal study showed that about 15,6 million people die from cardiovascular diseases per year, which is 29,6% of the world's total mortality. The epidemiology of metabolic syndrome with use of criteria has been studied well, the prevalence data of both the syndrome and its individual components in the most diverse regions of the planet have been accumulated. However, only a few studies take into account factors such as national characteristics, ethnic characteristics, demographic indicators (age, sex), lifestyle, occupation and nutrition in different regions, which in our opinion is necessary in planning research to determine the prevalence of this syndrome.
