Bu araştırma Doğu Karadeniz bölgesine özgü Butko, Otur ve Sati zeytin çeşitlerinin pomolojik özelliklerinin ortaya konulması amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma Doğu Karadeniz bölgesinin Artvin ili Yusufeli ilçesinden yöreye özgü Butko, Otur ve Sati zeytin çeşitlerinin meyveleri olgunlaşma zamanları dikkate alınarak Kasım ve Aralık aylarında 2004-2005 ve 2005-2006 sezonlarında alınmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında kullanılan çeşitlerin meyve sayısı (adet/kg), meyve ağırlığı (g), meyve eni (mm), meyve boyu (mm), meyve indeksi (boy/en), meyve şekli, çekirdek ağırlığı (g), çekirdek eni (mm), çekirdek boyu (mm), et oranı (%) ve olgunluk indeksleri belirlenmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre en iri meyveleri Otur çeşidi oluşturmuştur. Bu çeşidin meyve ağırlığı 3,93 g, meyve eni 15,11 mm, meyve boyu 24,77 mm, çekirdek ağırlığı 0,87 g, çekirdek eni 8,81 mm, çekirdek boyu 17,96 mm ve olgunluk indeksi ise 3,50 olarak saptanmıştır. Otur çeşidinin 1 kg da 254,45 adet meyve bulunmasına karşın, en küçük meyveleri oluşturan Butko çeşidinde ise 1 kg da 546,45 adet meyve olduğu belirlenmiştir

This study was carried out to determinate the pomological characteristics of Butko, Otur and Sati varieties of Eastern Blacksea region. In this research the fruits of Butko, Otur and Sati olive varieties considering maturation time were harvested in Yusufeli county in Artvin city in Eastern Blacksea Region on 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 growing seasons. Fruit number (fruit/kg), fruit weight (g), fruit width (mm), fruit length (mm), fruit index (length/width), fruit shape, seed weight (g), seed width (mm), seed length (mm), flesh ratio (%) and maturity index were determined in varieties used in research. According to the obtained results, the largest fruits were determined in Otur variety. The characteristics of Otur variety as follow: fruit weight (3,93 g), fruit width (15,11 mm), fruit length (24,77 mm), pit weight (0,87 g), pit width (8,81 mm), pith length (17,96 mm) and maturity index (3,50). The number of olive fruits per kg was found 254,45 in Otur variety whereas the smallest fruits were obtained from Butko variety and the number of olive fruits per kg was found 546,45
