Oküler dermoidli buzağılarda serum A vitamini ve \beta-karoten düzeyleri

Bu çalışmada, oküler dermoidli hayvanlarda serum A vitamini ve β-karoten düzeylerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Fırat Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Kliniklerine muayene ve tedavi için getirilen 8 baş buzağı çalışmada kullanılmıştır. Ortalama serum A vitamini ve β-karoten düzeyleri sırasıyla 36.32 + 11.30 μg/dl ve 17.27 + 10.02 μg/dl bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak; çalışmaya alınan hayvanlarda serum A vitamini düzeyinin sağlıklı buzağılar için bildirilen normal değerlerde olduğundan oküler dermoidin oluşumunda etkili olmadığı kanısındayız.

Serum vitamin A and \beta-carotene levels in calves with ocular dermoid

This study was aimed to investigate serum vitamin A and β-carotene levels in calves with ocular dermoid. Eight calves with ocular dermoid brought to Internal Medicine Clinic (Firat University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Elazığ – TURKEY) for examination and treatment was used in this study. The mean vitamin A and β-carotene levels were determined as 36.32 + 11.30 μg/dl and 17.27 + 10.02 μg/dl, respectively. In conclusion, because of serum vitamin A levels in calves in this study was similar with reports to healthy calves we suggest that levels of vitamin A was not effective in formation of ocular dermoid.
