DECENT WORK IN TURKEY: FIELD RESEARCH ON ITS CONTEXT, CONCEPTUALIZATION, AND ASSESSMENT

The present study attempted to explore decent work in Turkey. This field research was based on a model that there is a causal link between decent work and work volition, the meaning of work, precarious working conditions, and life satisfaction. The study was carried out with 395 participants and investigated the associations between the participants' demographic characteristics and decent work, as well as the above links. The data were analyzed using independent samples t-Test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation, and multiple linear regression tests. The findings showed that women's decent work scores were lower than those of men and that divorced women had the lowest decent work scores. Also, it was found that the participants got higher decent work scores as their educational attainment and income level increased. In addition, work volition, life satisfaction and the meaning of work had positive impacts while precarious conditions had a negative effect on decent work.
