Nowadays, digital literacy skills have become necessary for all individuals, as digital technologies affect all areas of life intensely. Especially individuals aged 45-50 and over, born at a time when digital technologies were not widespread, are more disadvantaged than other age groups today. This study aimed to determine the digital literacy needs of individuals in this age group to contribute to design digital literacy education programs for them. The research data were collected from 239 volunteer participants in the study through face-to-face interviews with a questionnaire developed by the researchers. The participants' need for help while using the Internet, their purpose of using the Internet, and their willingness to improve their digital skills were analyzed according to 35-49, 50-64 and 65+ age groups. Percentage, frequency and chi- square statistics were used to analyze the data. The study‟s findings show that 39.5% of the participants aged 65 and over, 28% of the participants in the 50-64 age group, 17.5% of the participants in the 35-49 age group receive help while using the Internet. Besides, it was found that the desire to take training to develop digital skills was 57.3% in the 35-49 age group, 41.5% in the 50-64 age group and 37.2% in the 65+ age group. These findings reveal that the educational demands of adults in these age groups for the development of digital skills is a need to be taken into account.
