Might cannabis smoking contribute to bullous lung disease?

Burada, toraks tomografisinde her iki akciğer apeksinde küçük büllöz amfizematöz değişiklikler tespit ettiğimiz, 8 yıldır esrar kullanan spontan pnömotoraks olgusunu sunduk. Genç erişkin yaş grubunda esrar kullanımı sonucu büllöz amfizematöz değişiklikler oluşabileceğini ve bu duruma bağlı olarak sekonder spontan pnömotoraks sıklığının arttığını düşünmekteyiz.

Esrar kullanımı büllöz akciğer hastalığına sebep olabilir mi?

Bullous lung disease is characterized by formation of blebs, bullae and emphysema and it is neither a rare nor a new disease. Most patients with bullous emphysema are cigarette smokers. On the other hand cannabis smoking is common and appears on teaching a cause of bullous lung disease and pneumothorax. The prevalence of cannabis smoking has increased continuously in high school and college students, as well as in young adults aged 19-32 years. A surprising increase in the number of young adults with secondary pneumothorax due to lung emphysema was observed. Here, we report a case of spontaneous pneumothorax with bullous lesions who has been smoking cannabis over 8 years. We detected bilateral small bullous emphysematous changes in the apices of lung on computed thomography. We think that cannabis smoking might be cause of bullous emphysematous changes in the apices of lung and it is a reason of secondary spontaneous pneumothorax of young adults.
