Stoneware sırları 1200°C ile 1350°C arasında gelişen, sert, mukavemeti yüksek, gözenekliliği düşük, asitlere ve sırçatlamalarına karşı dayanıklı, hijyenik, örtücü opak ve yarı opak sırlardır. En büyük özelliği kurşunsuz olmalarıdır.Stoneware sırların karakteristik özelliği ve sır yüzeyindeki derinlik etkisi düşük dereceli sırlarla elde edilemeyeceközelliktedir. Bu nedenle birçok seramik sanatçısının tercih ettiği bir sır çeşididir. Yapılan bu çalışmada, çeşitli renkve yüzey etkilerini araştırmak amacıyla stoneware bünyeler üzerine uygulanan ve farklı oranlardaki renk veren oksitkatkıları ile geliştirilen stoneware sır araştırmalarına yer verilmiştir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Stoneware Sırı, Seramik, Renk veren Oksitler.

Stoneware glazes are the ones that mature between 1200°C and 1350°C, that are hard, durable, non-porous, strong, resistant to acids and crazing, hygienic, opaque and semi-opaque. The most important feature of these glazes is their lead-free chemical compositons. The characteristic feature of stoneware-glazes and the depth-effect on the surface of glaze has the feature which cannot be obtained with low-fired glazes. Therefore, many ceramic artists prefer these type of glazes.
