Platon’dan Strauss’a: Düzenin Kurulmasında ve Korunmasında Soylu Yalanın Rolü
Bu çalışmada amaçlanan, Platon’un Politeia’sında düzenin kurulması ve korunması bakımından önemli bir işlevi olan soylu yalanın açıklanmasıdır. Bu amaçla, çalışma üç bölüme ayrılmıştır. Birinci bölümde, öncelikle Platon’un soylu yalanı diğer yalan biçimlerinden nasıl ayırdığı ve onu hakikati destekleyen ve bireyleri yanılgılardan koruyan bir yalan biçimi olarak tanımladığı gösterilmiştir. Daha sonra, soylu yalanın Politeia’nın kurulmasında ve korunmasındaki işlevi farklı boyutları irdelenerek açıklanmıştır. İkinci bölümde ise, Leo Strauss’un soylu yalana dair okumaları ve bu okumalara bağlı yorumları ortaya koyulmuştur. Bu bağlamda soylu yalanın Politeia ile sınırlı olmadığı ve birçok devletin kurulmasında ve korunmasında kullanılan bir araç olduğu açıklanmıştır. Son olarak, soylu yalanın Platon’dan Strauss’a eşitsizliğe dayanan düzenlerin kurulması ve korunması amacıyla kullanılan bir araç olduğu eleştirel bir şekilde değerlendirilmiştir.
From Plato to Strauss: The Role of Noble Lie in the Constitution and the Protection of the Order
In this study, what the aim is to explain the noble lie that has an important function in respect to constitute and protect the order in Plato’s Politeia. For that purpose, the study is separated to three parts. In the first part, how Plato distinguishes the noble lie from the other forms of lies and defines it as a form of lie that supports the truth and protects individuals from delusions are shown. After that, the function of the noble lie in the constitution and protection of Politeia is explained by semtinizing its different aspects. In the second part, the readings of Leo Strauss on the noble lie and his interpretations in relation to this readings are exposed. In this sense, it is explained that the noble lie is not limited to Politeia and is a means used to constitute and protect many states. Consequently, it is evaluated in a critical sense that the noble lie from Plato to Strauss is a means to use by the aim of constitution and protection of orders depending inequality.
