Sosyo-ekonomik gelişmenin önemli unsurlarından biri sanayi sektörüdür. Sanayi sektörünün gelişmesiyle birlikte bir sonraki aşama olan hizmetler sektörünün de dinamiklik kazanması sağlanmış olur. Bu kapsamda ulusal ve bölgesel düzeyde gelişmenin sağlanması adına sanayi sektörünün mevcut durumunun doğru tespiti ve eksikliklerinin giderilmesi önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada Van ili sanayisinin mevcut durumunun genel bir değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır.
