Investigation of the Relationship Between Foot Pressure Types and Postures of Athletics and Combat Child Athletes

Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between foot pressure type, and postural translations in children aged 7-11 years who have been in athletics, and combat sports. Methods: Child athletes between the ages of 7-11, who are registered to Üsküdar sports centers, and who continue one of the athletics, and combat sports branches, were included in the study on a voluntary basis. Static pedobarographic, and 3D posture measurements of the participants were taken. Skewness, kurtosis values, descriptive statistics, Independent sample T test, Pearson Chi-Square test, and Factorial MANOVA test were used in the statistics of the data and p<0,05 was accepted for statistical significance. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the foot pressure types of the participants according to the branch (p>0.05). According to the branch, only a significant difference was observed between the forward and backward translation values of the head (p<0.05). It was determined that branch, and foot pressure types did not have a significant effect on postural translations (p>0.05). Conclusion: As a result of the study, it can be said that the foot pressure types are similar in the participant. The postural difference on the basis of branch is only due to the head region. It can be thought that the type of foot pressure types has no effect on posture variables in the this sports branches. Similar studies should be conducted on participants with a higher year of doing sports.
