TheEffect of High Intensity Interval Training Programme in Blood Lipid Parameters on Normoxic and Hypoxic Conditions

Purpose :The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of 8-week high intensity interval training (HIIT) on blood lipid parameters on normoxic and hypoxic conditions in the normobaric environment. Methods :16 participants were randomly assigned to normoxic or hypoxic groups and then they were subjectsto 8-week highintensity interval training on normoxic and hypoxic conditions (2500 m.) in the normobaric environment. The hypoxic conditions were provided with Hypoxica Submit II exercise package (Made in USA). The heights, weights and blood samples of participants were taken before the training programme. HIIT completed 8 weeks of Wingate style cycling training, 3 days/week, consisting of incremental repeats 4 to 7 every two weeks × 30s all-out effort with 4 min rests. The blood samples were taken before the training and 4.week and 8.week of training for analizing triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) and total cholesterol (TOTKOL). Statistical evaluation was conducted by using SPSS 22 software program. TheTwo-Way Repeated Measures ANOVA was used to determine the effects of hypoxia and HIITand all data were analyzed at significance level of p<0.05.Results : The main findings of the study was no differences applying HIIT training on hypoxic or normoxic conditions on blood lipids (p>0,05). Also, HIIT lead to positive effects on the blood lipid parameters on normoxic and hypoxic conditions (p<0.05).
