Tüm eğitim alanlarında olduğu gibi sanat eğitiminde de gelişim, değişim ve çağın gereksinimlerine uyum sağlamak önemli unsurlardır. Bu nedenle sanat eğitimi veren yabancı eğitim kurumlarını incelemek, ülkemiz sanat eğitimi ile farklılıklarını tespit etmek, olumlu yanlarını alarak uygulamak gerekir. Ülkemizde pek çok sanatçı ve bilim adamı Cumhuriyet öncesi dönemden başlayarak ve ardından daha da hızlanarak bilimin ve sanatın merkezinde bulunan ülkelere giderek araştırmalarda bulunmuşlardır. Buradan edindikleri bilgileri ve izlenimleri ülkemiz bilim ve sanat ortamı ile paylaşmışlar ve böylece ilerlemenin ve gelişimin önünü açmışlardır. Buradan hareketle, 01 Şubat 2018 ila 30 Ocak 2019 tarihleri arasında ziyaretçi profesör olarak görev yaptığım Paris 8 Üniversitesi Plastik Sanatlar Bölümü’nü benzer ve farklı uygulamaları gözeterek inceledim. Davet mektubu alarak derslerini inceleme şansı yakaladığım profesörün yanı sıra okulda eğitim veren farklı öğretim elemanlarının da derslerini iki dönem boyunca gözlemledim. Bu çalışmada, Üniversite Paris 8 Plastik Sanatlar Bölümü’ndeki teorik ve pratik dersler, ders programları, derslerin işleyişi, teoriye verilen önem, öğretim elemanlarının dersleri değişik mekânlara taşımaları ele alınacak, ülkemiz sanat eğitiminden farklı yaklaşımları irdelenecek ve bölüme dair genel bilgiler ve gözlemler sunulacaktır.

Like all fields of education, it is also important to adapt the changes, the developments and the needs of the age to the art education. For this reason, it is necessary to examine the foreign educational institutions that provide art education, to determine their differences with the art education of our country and to take and apply their positive sides. Many artists and scientists in our country, starting from the pre-republic period and then by accelerating, have visited the countries in the center of science and art and they have made researches there. They shared their knowledge and impressions with our country's science and art scene and thus paved the way for progress and development. Therefore, as a visiting professor, I visited the Paris 8 University Department of Plastic Arts between 01 February 2018 and 30 January 2019, inspecting similar and different applications. In addition to the professor whom I had the chance to observe his lessons by taking the invitation letter, I also observed the lessons of the different instructors who have been teaching at the school for two semesters. In this study, in the Department of Plastic Arts at the University of Paris 8, theoretical and practical courses, the course schedules, the operation of the courses, emphasis on theory, the transfer of lectures by the lecturers to the different places, their different approaches will be examined and the general information and observations about the department will be presented.
