Origen ve Alegorik Kitab-ı Mukaddes Yorumu

Greklerden itibaren kutsal metinlere uygulanan bir yorumlama yöntemi olan alegori, Philo ile birlikte ilk kez yahudi kutsal metinlerinin anlaşılmasında kullanılmıştır. Hıristiyan yorumcular arasında ise alegorik yöntemin zirve isminin Origen olduğu kabul edilir. Bu makale, alegorik yöntemin Origen’e kadarki tarihî gelişimini özetleyen bir girişin ardından, Origen’in alegorik Kitab-ı Mukaddes yorumunu örnekleriyle ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. İlk dönem kilise tarihinde, başta Mopsuestialı Theodore olmak üzere Antakya ilahiyat okulunun temsilcileri alegorik yönteme karşı eleştiriler yöneltmişler ve Kitab-ı Mukaddes’i kelimelerin lafzî manalarıyla yorumlamak gerektiğini savunmuşlardır. Makale bu bağlamda bilhassa Mopsuestialı Theodore’un Origen’e yönelik eleştirilerine de yer vermektedir
