Adana'da Turunçgil nematodu (Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb) ile bulaşık olmayan ve çok düşük oranda bulaşık olan iki turunçgil bahçesinde bu zararlının 1994-1999 yıllarında bahçeye bulaşma durumu ve bahçe içindeki yayılışı bu çalışmada araş-tırılmıştır. Turunçgil nematodunun örneklenmesine ve mücadelesine ışık tutması amacıyla yürütülen bu çalışmada denemeye alınan bahçelerdeki ağaçların yaklaşık %10-15'inden her yıl toprak örneği alınarak Turunçgil nematodu populasyonundaki değişim incelenmiştir. Turunçgil nematodu ile bulaşık olmayan bahçeye 1994 yılından 1999 yılına kadar bu zararlının bulaşmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bahçeye 6 yıl boyunca Turunçgil nematodunun bulaşmamasında bahçenin diğer turunçgil bahçelerinden uzak olması, başlangıçta temiz fidanlarla kurulması ve damlama sulama usulü sulanmasının en etkili faktörler olduğu söylenebilir. Başlangıçta ağaçların sadece %6'sı Turunçgil nematodu ile bulaşık olan bahçede ise bulaşıklık oranının her yıl arttığı ve 1999 yılında %64,4'e yükseldiği saptanmıştır.

In this study the spatial distribution and spread of the citrus nematode (Tylenchulus semipenetrans Cobb) in a 20-year-old citrus orchard and a newly estab-lished citrus orchard were investigated between 1994 and 1999 in Adana province. Approximately 10 to 15% of the trees in each orchard were sampled per year to deter-mine the changes in spatial distribution of T. semipenetrans. No nematode was detected in the newly established citrus orchard during the entire observation period. Reasons for this could be the use nematode-free planting materials, the great distance (ca. 10 km) to other citrus orchards, and the application of drip irrigation. In second orchard 6% of the trees were infested with T. semipenetrans at the beginning of the study. The rate of infested trees increased dramatically to 64.4% within 6 years. The spread of nematodes was along the irrigation direction within the first years and later more related to cultural practices.
