Bu çalışma ile, Türkiye'de Kızılcam (Pinus brutia Ten.) ormanlarının önemli bir zararlısı olan Çam keseböceği (Thaumetopoea pityocatnpa (Den. & Schiff.))'nin yumurta koçanlarının yapısı, yumurta parazitoitleri, tırtıl çıkış ve parazitlenme oranlan ile dişinin bazı yumurta bırakma davranışları belirlenmiştir. Bu amaçla Türkiye'nin 12 farklı yöresinde Kızılcam ormanlarından toplam 181 adet yumurta koçanı toplanmıştır. Koçanlarda ortalama yumurta sayısı 217, tırtıl çıkış oranı % 70.3, parazitoitlerin doğal etkinliği % 25.8 olarak saptanmıştır. Yumurta parazitoitleri olarak Ooencryfus pityocampae Mercet (Hym.: Encrytidae), Baryscapus servadeii (Dom.) (Hym.: Eulophidae), Anastatııs bifasciatus (Fonsc.) (Hym.: Eupelmidae) ve Trichogramma embryophagum Htg. (Hym.: Trichogrammatidae) kaydedilmiştir. Dişinin yumurta bırakmak için ağacın güney yönlerini ve direklik çağındaki bir meşcerede daha çok tepenin alt kısımlarını tercih ettiği tespit edilmiştir.

In this study, the structure of egg-batches, egg parasitoids, rates of hatching and parasitism and egg laying habits of females of Pine processionary moth Thaumetopoea pityocampa (Den. & Schiff.) which is one of the most harmfull insect in Turkey's Brutian pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) forests were investigated. For this purpose, 181 egg-batches were collected from Brutian pine forests located 12 different parts of Turkey.The figures of egg-batches related to mean egg numbers, hatching rate, natural activities of parasitoids were found as 217, 70.3% and 25.8% respectively. As egg parasitoids Ooencrytus pityocampae Mercet (Hym.: Encrytidae), Baryscapus servadeii (Dom.) (Hym.: Eulophidae), Anastatus bifasciatus (Fonsc.) (Hym.: Eupelmidae) and Trichogramma embryophagum Htg. (Hym.: Trichogrammatidae) were determined. In addition, it was recorded that for egg laying, females preferred southern aspects of trees and beneath of tree crowns in pole-stage stands.
