1995-1996 yıllarında yapılan sörveylerde Ankara park ve bahçelerinden toplanan çok yıllık çalımsı süs bitkilerinden 580 örnek alınmış, 47 bitki türünden 31'inin akarla bulaşık olduğu gözlenmiştir. Tetranychoidea üst familyasına bağlı Tetranychidae'den 6 tür, Tenuipalpidae'den 5 tür olmak üzere toplam 11 tür kaydedilmiştir. Aegyptobia mccormicki, Aegyptobia tragardhi (Tenuipalpidae) ile Pentamerismus taxi (Tenuipalpidae) ülkemiz faunası için yeni kayıttır. Ayrıca zararlı türlerden Stenotarsonemus pallidııs (Tarsonemidae)'da saptanmıştır. En yaygın tür Tetranychus urticae olup 24 farklı konukçudan elde edilmiş, incelenen tüm parklarda yaygındır. A. mccormicki, A. tragardhi ve P. taxi, T. urticae'yi izlemiştir. Tenuipalpidae türleri için Cupressaceae türleri önemli konukçu bitkiler olarak gözlenmiştir.

Determination of Tetranychoidea (Acarina: Prostigmata) species feeding on the woody ornamental plants in the park areas of Ankara province were carried out during 1995-1996. As a results of surveys 11 species were identified, in which 6 of them belongs to Tetranychidae, while 5 of them in Tenuipalpidae. In total 580 samples were collected, 47 plant species were examined and out of them 31 plant species were infected by mites in the park areas of Ankara. The species of Aegyptobia mccormicki (Baker and Pritchard), Aegyptobia tragardhi Sayed and Pentamerismus taxi (Haller) are new records for the mite fauna of Turkey. Mean while Stenotarsonemus pallidus (Banks) was observed as a harmful mite species in addition to the Tetranychoidea species. Tetranychus urticae Koch, A. mccormicki, A. tragardhi and P. taxi were found as the most common tetranychoid species from shrubs and woody ornamental plants in the parks of Ankara.
