Seasonal variation of total lipid and total fatty acid in muscle and liver of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss W., 1792) reared in Derbent Dam Lake

Seasonal and monthly variations in the amount of total lipid and fatty acid in muscle and liver of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) reared in Derbent Dam Lake were investigated. It was determined that the amount of total lipids and fatty acids both in muscle and liver, varied by months and seasons (P<0.05). The amount of total lipid in muscle and liver reached its maximum in Autumn. The amounts of total fatty acid both in muscle and liver were determined to be higher in summer, Autumn and Winter seasons than that of Spring. Furthermore, the amount of total lipid and fatty acid was higher in liver than in muscle.
