Trilobites from the Çal Tepe formation (Cambrian),near Seydişehir,Central Taurides,southwestern Turkey

Seydişehir yakınlarında yüzeyleyen Çal Tepe Formasyonu'nun tip kesiti yeniden incelendi. Tabandaki dolomit üyesi fosilsiz olup, hemen üzerindeki siyah kireçtaşı (24 m), açık-gri kireçtaşı (10.15 m), ve kırmızı nodüllü kireçtaşı (46.7 m) üyelerinden oluşan istif çoğunlukla fosilli 37 tabakaya ayrılmıştır. Siyah kireçtaşı üyesindeki trilobitler (geçErken Kambriyen) Fas, İspanya ve kuzeybatı Avrupadakilere benzerlik sunarken yeni bir cinsi ve türü {Pamphyliaspis nigra) ile üç yeni türden (Condylopyge matutina, Alueva venulosa, Antatlasia scabra) oluşmaktadır. Alt açık-gri kireçtaşı üyesi Acadoparadoxides (Acadoparadoxides) mureroensis (ispanya'da en alt Orta Kambriyenin indeks türü olarak bilinir) ile Hamatolenus (Hamatolenus) altifronsns sp. nov., ve ilk batı Anadolu'da Afyon güneybatısında tanımlanan corynexochid Clavigellus venustus gibi türleri içermektedir. Bu üyenin en üst kesimlerini oluşturan tabakalardaki trilobitler ise Acadolenus?, Agraulos, Dorypyge fimbriata sp. nov., Granularia, Parasolenopleura? ve Sdzuyella içerirken Corynexochus nadir olarak gözlemlenmiştir. Kırmızı nodüler kireçtaşı üyesi derinleşen deniz koşullarına işaret ederken Asturiaspis oezgueli sp. nov., Conocoryphe (Conocoryphe), Dorypyge, Eccaparadoxides marginatus sp. nov., Hartella, Peronopsis, Proampyx ve biyozonal indeks Pardailhania hispida gibi türlerin içermektedir. Hadim yakınlarında, Çal Tepe'nin 70 km güneybatısı, kırmızı nodüler kireçtaşı üyesindeki fosil içeriği Seydişehir yakın civarıyla aynıdır. Çal Tepe'de, üzerleyen sarı şeyiller (burada Seydişehir Formasyonu'nun temeli olarak tanımlanmıştır) tanımlanamayan paradoxidid parçalan içerirken, Hadim civarından eşdeğer stratada Pardailhania hispida nadir olarak bulunmaktadır. En genç Üst Kambriyen kayaçları Çal Tepe'nin batısında yüzeyliyor olabilir, ancak Kambriyen-Ordovisyen dokunağı burada yüzeylememektedir. Güneybatı Türkiye ile Akdeniz bölgesinin diğer kesimlerindeki Kambriyen istifleri ile olan korelasyon tekrar gözden geçirilmiştir.
