A series of novel polyaromatic derivatives of imidazole were synthesized by Bi(III) nitrate{SiO2catalyzedfour-component reactions of benzil, ammonium acetate, aromatic aldehydes, andN-heterocyclic derivatives of anilineunder solvent-free conditions.
