Küresel Yaşlanma ve Türkiye'de Yaşlılarla Psikolojik Danışma ve Rehberlik

Son yıllarda tüm dünyada yaşlı nüfusunda belirgin bir artış görülmektedir. Yaşlı nüfusundaki bu dikkat çekici büyüme, bireylerin yaşlılık dönemine özgü çokboyutlu gereksinimlerini de ön plana çıkarmıştır. Son 20 yılda Batılı ülkelerde, Psikolojik Danışma ve Rehberlik (PDR) ve diğer psikolojik hizmet alanlarında yaşlanma ve yaşlılarla ilgili konulara olan araştırma ilgisinin arttığı; ancak Türkiye'de PDR alanında bu gruba yönelik araştırma ve uygulamaların sınırlı kaldığı gözlenmektedir. Ülkemizdeki gerek mevcut yaşlı nüfusu, gerekse gelecekte bu sayıdaki önemli artışa ilişkin beklentiler, bu konuyla ilgili bilimsel literatürün PDR alanı açısından bir araya getirilerek aktarılmasını gerekli kılmıştır.

Global Aging and Counseling the Elderly in Turkey

In recent years, there has been a rapid growth in the aging population worldwide. The significant increase in the aging population has drawn attention to the multidimensional needs of older adults. Through the last two decades, researchers in Western countries put an increased interest into aging issues and older adults. However, in Turkey, research and counseling practices related to older adults has remained rather limited. Considering the growing older adult population in our country, as well, it has become a necessity to cite the literature base in the field of guidance and counseling in relation to older adults.
