140 patients diagnosed as meningococcal disease have been investigated retrospectively The mortality rate was increased significantly in cases associated with hypotension disturbed consciousness existence of diffuse petechie and purpura and who did not have meningitis and leuococytosis High fever and ESR did not show any effect on mortality A new easily appliable and highly effective scoring system has been developed with scoring points based on the degree of influence of factors effecting mortality Key words: Meningococcal Disease Prognostic Factors Scoring System
