A three year old boy presenting with high grade fever vomiting and torpidity had a cerebrospinal flied examination revealing xanthochromia lymphocyte predominance and high protein levels We was put on antituberculous treatment regime but died on the second day of admission Listeria Monocytogenes was recovered in cerebrospinal fluid obtained at postmortem examination We report this case for its rarity in this age group and lack of risk factors Key words: Listeria Monocytogenes Meningitis Tuberculosis
