The Effects Of Cold Stress Treatment And Enalapril Maleat Which Is A Hypotensive Drug On Total Rna Levels In Different Rat Tissues

In this study, the effects of cold stress, enalapril maleat and enalapril maleate accompanied to cold stresstreatments on total RNA levels of adrenal medulla, hypotalamus and heart tissues of Fischer -344 rats have beenobserved. Determination of total RNA levels was aimed for being able to get introductory information about theenzyme levels which play a central role in the control and secretion of stress hormons. In cold stress treatment, rats were exposed to +8°C temperature during 48 hours. Enalapril maleate wasinjected intraperitoneally 10 mg/kg body weight . In cold stress accompanied to enalapril maleat treatment, enalaprilmaleat was injected in doses of 10 mg/kg per rat, after injection, rats were exposed to +8°C during 48 hours. Afterthe treatments, tissue samples of adrenal medulla, hypotalamus and heart were taken. In all three these tissues, elevations in total RNA levels were found to be statistically significant because of coldstress treatment p0.05 . On the other hand, increase in total RNA levelsof heart tissue had been found statistically significant p
