Bu çalışma ile Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde ilk defa Sabin Feldman dye testi ile koyun ve keçilerde Toxoplasma gondii’nin seroprevalansının tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bunun için Kıbrıs’ın farklı bölgelirenden 71 koyun ve 38 keçiden kan alınarak, serumları çıkarılmış ve Sabin Feldman dye testi ile T.gondii antikorları araştırılmıştır. Serolojik muayeneleri yapılan koyunlardan %52.11’i, keçilerden ise %52.63’ü seropozitif bulunmuştur.Serepozitif bulunan koyunlardan 18’inin (%48.64) ve keçilerden 6’sının (%30) 1/64 ve yukarısı sulandırma basamağında pozitif bulunması, bu hayvanlarda klinik toxoplasmosis’in var olabileceğini ortaya koyması bakımından önemlidir.

The aim of the present study was carried out detect Toxoplasma gondii’in goats and sheep in Norh Cyprus for the first time by using Sabin-Feldman dye test. Serum samples from 71 sheep and 38 goats were investigated for Toxoplasma gondii antibodies by using the test. İn this test, 52.11% of sheep and 52.63% of goats found to be posivite have carried of the antibodies. Eighteen out of 37 (48.64%) seroposivite sheep and 6 out of 20 (30%) seroposivite goats found to be posivite at a dulition 1/64 or higher have showed that these animals may have clinical toxoplasmosis.
